Off To No. Woodstock And The White Mountains
After a stop at Whole Foods outside of Amherst we started our trek north to New Hampshire and the White Mountains. Our destination was the The Wilderness Inn located in North Woodstock. We arrived at 2:30 pm and with bright shiny skies remaining we headed off to Franconia Notch to view the famed Flume Gorge. The two mile loop takes you up towards the Flume while passing a covered bridge (pictured left) that is used for the optional bus ride up. If you have trouble walking, the bus ride is definitely recommended as there are many hills to climb. The Flume Gorge did provide a spectacular view and I will post some shots at a later date. Dinner was at The Woodstock Inn Station and Brewery. We ate in the brewery. BA had their Mom's meatloaf (BA's is better) while I had a steak. Not bad and prices are reasonable.
