An Afternoon Trip On A Cloudy Day

We started the day after breakfast heading west over Roanoke Island and made a loop around the Alligator River heading towards Stumpy Point a quaint fishing village located off the Pamlico Sound and looking east towards Pea Island. From there we traveled further through the Lake Landing Historical District a series of landmark 19th century homes heading towards the town of Swan Quarter. We then proceeded to Hwy 94 North which ran through Lake Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge north to Columbia and then east back to the Outer Banks.
