A Day Revisiting Old NJ Haunts

My Childhood Home

Whirlwind few days here in NJ visiting family and friends but I also got to drive around and see some old “haunts”. Pic #1 is the house in Neptune I grew up in. Pic #2 (with The Thom McAn graphic) is the back of the old Upstage where Springsteen, Southside Johnny, Stevie Van Zandt played. It was upstairs from the shoe store and I remember the inside well. Pic #3 is The Stone Pony and pic #4 and 5 is pizza from The Brothers in Red Bank. Although this Neptune kid grew up on Vic’s of Bradley Beach and Pete and Elda’s, my later memories of theater friends and late night strikes were here. Fun fact…. I cut my teeth in the shoe industry with the corporation that owned Thom McAn. I spent many a day in their Worcester Mass offices.
