We took the 1:00 tour from
Clayton, NY and The St Lawrence River, through some of the 1000 Islands to the Rock Island Lighthouse. Many of the islands are only accessible by boat.Wellesley Island and the state park is accessible by car via the 1000 Island Bridge. Many of the rich and famous would purchase these islands for pleasure. Boldt Castle was built by George Boldt owner of The Waldorf and others were owned by John Jacob Astor and Helena Rubenstein.

After the tour we walked around the town of Clayton stopping at the famous
1000 Island River Rat Cheese Shop!
